Studying..

Here comes the two weeks of exams. I need to focus and push myself to study. I don’t have any clue why I hate to study, even though if these weren’t my uni subjects, I’d have really enjoyed reading such books, as I’m totally interested in media, politics, how to write articles, religious state, the change in society and where are we heading here in Egypt, how to do researches and investigative reports..etc. These what I’m suppose to study. But something about exams make me wanna escape to anything and everything else, its the curse of exams. They get me in bad moods and I don’t feel like reading/studying else in an open air area, and so I limit my functionalities and procrastinate till I find somewhere that fits my needs. Last time I really studied well was on train. I wonder what motivate you to study? Else the stress of having an exam the next day, seriously, if this doesn’t put on charge what will ever do? My bestfriend says, you gotta show a responsible young lady and do your job. Fine, I’m gonna burn it down, sorry I’m listening to Fun House –Pink.
Yalla Start Up, was a trending topic on Twitter, I think I’m gonna see what motivate thoses guys. Flipping through the page of my so precious books, pray for me that I get motivated.

I’ve caught myself thinking that way before too, hating and avoiding exams. What I’ve found in myself is that I don’t like being measured, out of fear I will fail. Sometimes I react by overkill studies, sometimes I intentionally don’t try as hard.

Asalamo Alikum Reihab,

I think we all go there from time to time provided the education system and the learning attitude we have in Egypt.

I used to get stressed during exams time as I prefer to focus on business and leave studies to the last few days before the finals, that’s very difficult with complex engineering subjects that need ongoing practice on solving problems and accordingly that got me over-stressed and my performance wasn’t that good.

As they say; attitude is everything. How we act is a direct result of how we feel which is resulted from what we believe in and what’s going on in our minds, If we can find away to change how we feel about the situation and ourselves, we can break free from stress and perform to the best of our ability.

I came across a very interesting paraliminal session from Dr. Ahmed Emara especially made for students under exams pressure. If you don’t know what a paraliminal session is, I was first introduced to it through LearningStrategies and they have something to say about it here:

I was sent the following on FB:

As you might have access to mobile only, I uploaded the files to my site and they’re available for streaming from here:

As they say; attitude is everything, how we act in different situations is a reflection of how we feel inside and how we perceive ourselves and the situation, so if we can alter how we feel in somehow we’ll definitely see different results.
